Privacy policy

A. MEMBER DATA AND PHI - Member data and their PHI shall only be utilized by Health Wellness Alliance (HWA) for the following purposes:

· Complete kit purchase(s).

· Create a member account and register a kit(s) to that account.

· Perform website maintenance, usage, and analytics, as well as network and infrastructure security.

· Process member samples at our contracted lab.

· Create member reports.

· Maintain and develop members’ account tools, features, and functionality.

· Provide GTLS clients with aggregated, de-identified data reporting.

· Assist members with the genetic testing process.

 

B. THIRD PARTY SERVICE PROVIDERS To assist in the processing of members genetic kit(s), HWA engages a number of third-party service providers. It is the responsibility of HWA to establish and employ a rigorous selection process that ensures each third-party service provider complies with all statutory and regulatory requirements and can deliver the appropriate level of security and data protection for HWA members’ data. These may include:

· Our genetic testing lab

· Member Care

· Cloud storage

· Marketing and analytics

· IT and Security

 

C. SAFEGUARDING MEMBER DATA

1. HWA shall implement physical, technical, and administrative measures to:

i. Prevent unauthorized access to or disclosure of member information.

ii. Maintain data accuracy.

iii. Ensure the appropriate use of information.

iv. And otherwise safeguard members' PHI.

2. Member data contains personal health information; therefore, HWA must adhere to Federal and State regulations, including but not limited to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rule
